Fitting For The Future 2020 has been canceled

Dear FFTF Volunteers, Participants and Supporters,

Given everything we have heard in the last few days, this will come as no surprise to you. As a result of all the restrictions that have been put in place from the coronavirus, I am extremely sad and disappointed that FFTF 2020 must be canceled.

At this point, I expect that we will not be able to reschedule before April 2021. There are so many people involved and so many moving parts in producing FFTF that it seems unlikely that we will be able to hold it later this year. I will revisit the circumstances as new developments take place and let you know with plenty of notice if holding the event in 2020 seems possible. Otherwise I will let all of you know a new date for 2021 as soon as I am able to set it.

I am especially sad about the missed opportunity for the kids in care who are looking forward to this event. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to avoid this step.

Stay healthy and hopeful,

Noryn Resnick

Executive Director, HelpOurKids

Please return here in the coming months for announcements about the location and date for Fitting For The Future 2021.

What is Fitting For The Future?

We were featured on the front cover of the Daily Hampshire Gazette's Hampshire Life Magazine in early June 2019! Read all about our flagship event, Fitting For The Future.

Fitting For The Future enables young men and women in high school and college who are in foster care in western Massachusetts to shop for special occasion clothing and accessories free of charge. The students are provided with the opportunity to choose those special outfits for a job interview, a dance, a sports banquet, graduation, or any other memorable occasion.

Each student is assigned a personal shopper to assist in the selection of the perfect outfits, shoes, jewelry, and accessories.  Included in the day is a hair and make-up consultation, on-site alterations, and a professional portrait.  Each student leaves the event with a swag bag full of goodies.
Our team of over 100 community volunteers ensures that each student receives personal attention and guidance.

Words cannot truly describe what a magical day this is for our youth. We have so much more to share with you. Click here to see more media coverage and photos from Fitting For The Future.
